“Festa é Festa” won the award for Best Telenovela at the Venice TV Awards 2022, last month of September. This is one of the most important international television competitions.
Besides the Portuguese production, the former telenovela’s were also nominated: “Destan”, from Turkey, “District 31”, from Canada, “Lisa”, from Belgium, “Genesis” and “Pantanal”, from Brazil.
“Festa é Festa” still reaches its audience, being the most watched soap opera in Portugal. The “Aldeia da Bela Vida “locals are a daily presence among Portuguese families, who they have been entertaining for more than a year and a half.
The Venice TV Awards take place two weeks after the Venice International Film Festival, which motto is to celebrate television. In the same Italian city, a judge gathered to give an award to both best national and international products.
Formats such as “Masterchef Australia”, the documentary “Chernobyl”, the film “The New Pope” or the “Eurovision Song Contest 2019” are some winners of the festival past editions.
